Do you have a collection of craft stuff that you never use in the back of the cupboard?  For me, they are the 'seemed like a good idea at the time purchases'.  I am the queen of the impulse crafting buy and this project is a result of trying to use these supplies up...

What do you get when you take some felt in garish colours, some chalkboard fabric, some eyelets and the scraps of fabric left over from last week's serviette sewing class?

Reusable gift tag gift bags of course...!

They look like gift tags, but are actually little reusable felt bags with a chalkboard fabric front for the perfect message that can be used over and over again...
and of course, I had to be seasonally appropriate...
I think they'd make really cute party favour bags, too...

Want to make your own?  Click read more to find out how....
1.  Start with a template.  I used this one.  Print it out and cut two pieces in a felt of your colour choice
2.  Cut one  piece of chalkboard fabric just smaller than the felt.  Stick it to one piece of felt.  You don't want to use pins as they'll leave holes in the fabric.
3.Stitch the chalkboard fabric to one piece of felt.
4.  Using the instructions that come with the eyelet tool insert an eyelet at the centre of the pointy end of each piece of felt.  Make sure they match up!
5.  Sew the two pieces of felt together wrong sides together. Leave a gap near the eyelet so that you can put your gift in the bag!
6.  Place your gift in the bag and tie with a ribbon.  I used bias tape.  You can use whatever takes your fancy!
How easy and quick was that?

Obviously, these are best for small gifts.  After all, as you get older, you realise that small things come in small packages!

They're gorgeous. I love luggage tags - use them for my business cards. I've never heard of chalkboard fabric. A new one for me but I'll check it out! ta
